A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in width overall consisting of a red fer-de-moline in front of a blue trident on a white enameled background the upper edge consisting of five arcs in a semicircle; all above a red scroll, the ends terminating at the edge of the outer arcs inscribed "SUPERIOR SUPPORT FOR ALL" in gold letters.
The five arcs simulating artillery shell explosions allude to the five campaigns in which the unit participated in Europe, World War II, as an Artillery organization. The fer-de-moline or millrind, a heraldic symbol derived from the iron plate support of a millstone, refers to the basic support mission of the organization, and Neptune's trident is symbolic of the Mississippi River, the "Father of Waters."
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 114th General Support Group on 29 October 1970. It was redesignated for the 114th Support Group on 4 April 1972.
